AT THE PERMIT COUNTER

Permits, Local Rules & Pre-Approved Plans

A plan you love still needs a place to sit. Match the drawings to your parcel and to the planning office that will review them.

Identify the reviewing office

Use the parcel boundary map and confirm the jurisdiction with staff. Ask for the current application checklist for your project type.

Compare the plan with the property

Bring a sketch of existing buildings, likely access, utilities and the proposed entrance. Ask what site drawings and engineering the application will need.

Using a pre-approved design

Open the local program’s plan list and ask the plan owner about licensing and permitted changes. Confirm which site-specific details still require review.
